Still waiting on a solar permit 8 weeks later, city office keeps kicking it back
I filed all the paperwork for a 6 kW rooftop array in Portland back in March, but the permitting office keeps flagging the same shading diagram for tiny formatting issues. Has anyone else had to resubmit the same document 4 times just to get a straightforward residential install approved?

Sounds about right for Portland. Next they'll want the shading diagram printed in a certain font and notarized by a guy named Gary who only works Tuesdays from 10 to 11. I had to resubmit my own stuff 3 times for a missing comma on a page nobody reads anyway. At this point you could probably just tell them the shading is fine and they'd approve it faster than fixing one more formatting thing. Your mileage may vary but hang in there, it usually wears them down eventually.
