Just hit 100 coffee shops on my local map and the number actually freaked me out a little
I've been marking every new place I try in my city on a physical map for about two years now. I added a new pin yesterday and counted them, and there were exactly 100 spots, which is way more than I thought I'd ever visit. It made me realize how much of my free time and money goes toward this hobby, and I'm starting to wonder if I should slow down. Has anyone else hit a personal milestone that made you pause and think about the habit?

Waste their free time scrolling" is a pretty sharp way to put it, honestly.

Hitting 100 is a sign you're doing it right, not a reason to stop. That map is a real record of your city you can't get from just walking around. Most people waste their free time scrolling, at least you have a wall full of proof you did something.

Feel like the map itself misses the point though. It turns exploring into collecting, like you're just checking off boxes. The real record is in your head, the weird little moments you can't pin to a wall. Scrolling might be empty, but chasing a number can feel just as hollow. Isn't the goal to actually be somewhere, not just to have been there?
