Why does nobody talk about using a kitchen scale for coffee
I was sick of inconsistent cups every morning, especially after dropping $60 on beans from a local roaster in Denver. Tried measuring by volume for months, then I just started weighing everything to the gram. Now my morning brew tastes the same every single time. Anyone else make the switch and never look back?

Stick with it, a scale really does make all the difference. One thing I'd gently point out though: even with grams, you still need to adjust for the bean. A dark roast from that Denver roaster will need a slightly coarser grind and maybe a gram or two less than a light roast from the same place. I learned that the hard way when my favorite pour-over recipe turned sour with a new batch. So the scale gives you consistency, but the bean still calls the shots on the exact ratio.

Sixteen grams of that natural Ethiopian was way too much.
