Spent $300 on a full run of 'Saga' and I'm not sure if it was a good call
I bought every single issue of 'Saga' from my local shop in Austin, thinking it would be a great investment for my collection. But now I'm looking at this huge stack and wondering if I should have just stuck with the digital versions or waited for the compendium. Has anyone else dropped serious cash on a complete series run and felt buyer's remorse, or was it totally worth it for you?

Collecting the single issues gives you a piece of the release history you just can't get from a trade. There's something special about holding the original ads and letter columns, watching the story unfold month by month like everyone else did. The money is a lot, but that experience is its own kind of value separate from just reading the story. Your mileage may vary, but for some of us, that's the whole point of collecting.

I always thought it was just about the story until I found a 90s X-Men issue with those old Hostess ads. You're right, that's a different kind of magic.

Totally get that. Those old ads are like a weird time capsule. It's not just the story, it's the whole vibe of when it came out. Makes you feel connected to everyone who read it back then. You ever find any other weird ads that stuck with you?
