Appreciation post: My old method for cleaning the flat top was a disaster

I used to think a wire brush and a splash of water was enough, until a cook in Austin saw me and said 'you're just making seasoned rust, man.' Now I use a proper grill brick and a dedicated scraper after every shift, and the surface actually stays silver. What's your most upgraded cleaning routine?

Switched to using a vinegar soak for my coffee maker after seeing the nasty buildup inside. Let it run through the cycle once a week now, and the difference in taste is huge. No more weird bitter flavor from old oils.

Does it work for single serve machines too?
