Blew a gasket over a missing anchovy at the deli counter

There was this old timer working the slicer at a grocery store I used to supply, and he insisted my order was missing anchovies. He spent 10 minutes digging through the trash to prove his point, found one stuck to a receipt. Has anyone else had a vendor or employee go full detective mode over a tiny ingredient?

Oh, give me a break. It's an anchovy, not the Hope Diamond. People act like a missing garnish is a personal insult these days, it's just a little fish. Maybe the counter guy had nothing better to do that afternoon.

It's just a little fish" is exactly right. People lose their minds over tiny stuff like that but won't say a word when a meal is actually bad. @noranguyen, you're spot on that the counter guy probably just got distracted or something, not like he plotted to ruin someone's day over an anchovy.
