The day the floor drain decided to fight back
I was helping a buddy deep clean his food truck kitchen in Tacoma, and we were hitting the floor drains with the pressure washer. On the third drain, I must have hit a perfect angle, because a geyser of what I can only call 'historic grease soup' shot straight up, hit the ceiling, and rained back down on both of us. We just stood there, dripping. My buddy looked at me and said, 'Well, it's clean now.' Anyone have a better method for clearing a stubborn drain line that won't result in a shower?

Could you try a drain snake before the pressure washer next time?

Oh man, that's a solid point... my buddy actually tried the snake first last month after his drain backed up. Thing is, it just pushed the clog further down the line, made a bigger mess. He ended up having to call someone anyway, @charles919. Sometimes it feels like you need the big guns right away, you know? But maybe he just didn't use the snake right.

Ehh I kinda disagree honestly. Snakes work fine if you're careful and go slow, but pressure washers can blow out old pipes if the plumbing's already iffy. Your buddy probably just rushed it or hit a nasty bend.
