Appreciation post: My $20 waterproof backpack cover saved my laptop on the 5:15 bus
A sudden downpour hit right as we pulled in, and the cheap plastic bag I used to carry it in before would have been soaked through. Anyone have a good brand for actually waterproof shoes that can handle a sprint to the stop?

Got a pair of Merrell hiking shoes that are my go-to for wet days. They look like normal sneakers but have a waterproof membrane. Kept my feet dry through a flooded crosswalk last week. The tread is good for slippery sidewalks too.

Nice... my "waterproof" shoes just gave my feet a bath in a puddle last Tuesday. Guess I should have splurged for the real deal instead of the cheap ones. Now I'm shopping with wet socks.
