The day I stopped fighting for a window seat on the 7:15 express

For years, I'd push through the crowd to get a window spot on my morning train into Chicago. Last Tuesday, a guy with a huge backpack knocked my coffee over doing the same thing. While I was cleaning up, I had to sit in an aisle seat near the doors. I noticed I got off a full minute faster and didn't feel as boxed in. Has anyone else found the 'worse' seat is actually better for their mood?

That "boxed in" feeling is real, and not having it is a total game changer.

Exit rows can be a real pain though. You get all the noise from the galley and people lining up for the bathroom right next to you. Sometimes a regular seat feels more peaceful.

Read something about exit rows being less stressful.
