Just replaced a laptop fan for the first time and it actually worked

Spent $40 on the part and an hour of my time, and the constant overheating noise is finally gone. Anyone have a go-to supplier for these kinds of small components?

Used to be convinced that taking apart a laptop was a one way trip to the electronics graveyard. Fixing that fan myself a few years back totally flipped that idea on its head. For parts, I usually just roll the dice on Amazon or eBay and hope the reviews are real. It's a bit of a gamble, but way cheaper than paying someone else to do it.

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy. He ordered a replacement screen off eBay and held his breath the whole time. Worked out great though, totally saved his old laptop. Good on you for giving it a shot, @veramiller.
