Back in 2019 our local paper ran a story about a fire at the old mill on Route 9 and got the address wrong, said it was the warehouse two blocks over. My neighbor owns that warehouse and spent the whole morning getting calls from worried family members asking if he was okay. He called the paper and they just quietly changed it online a day later, never ran a correction in print. After that I started checking everything they print against the actual source, and half the time the details don't match up. Once you see how sloppy the small stuff is, it's hard to trust the big stuff either.
