A bride's meltdown at the Phoenix Marriott made me rethink my whole consultation process

She hated her updo an hour before the ceremony, saying it felt 'nothing like the Pinterest board.' I had to redo it under crazy time pressure. Do you guys stick to the exact photo or push for a more realistic plan during the first talk?

Pinterest board" is the problem phrase for me. I always say those are for vibes, not a blueprint. You gotta manage that expectation from the jump.

Totally get that. The word "blueprint" is perfect for setting the right tone. Seen too many people get upset because their real life kitchen can't look exactly like a filtered shot from a mansion. You have to explain it's about the feeling, the color, the general style, not copying each item tile for tile.

Managing expectations is key, but the photo is the whole job sometimes. If they bring a clear picture, that's the plan we're making together.
