Heard a client at the salon say she only washes her hair twice a week now because of a TikTok trend. It made me wonder how often we're really steering people versus just following what's viral.

Gotta disagree with @chen.fiona though, trends don't always mean bad advice.

It's weird how these trends skip over the actual science. Hair type, scalp oil, water hardness, all that stuff matters way more than a random video. We end up having to undo bad advice when someone's scalp gets angry from following a one-size-fits-all internet rule.

Yeah, I used to chase those trends too. Seeing how different my sister's hair reacts to the same advice finally clicked for me. It's all just guessing without the personal details.

Three years of following my city's building codes made me realize the same thing applies to houses. Every house is different and the same blind trend approach just creates expensive problems later. The generic fix never fits right.
