Vent: Foil placement was my nemesis for way too long

I swear I spent like 2 months just trying to get my foils to sit flat without slipping. Every client looked like they had random silver antennas sticking out of their head by the time I finished. I tried different foils, different sectioning clips, even watched a ton of tutorials from stylists in Miami and New York. Finally figured out it was my technique for folding the foil over the hair, I was creasing it too soon. Took a class at a local salon in Portland that broke it down in like 10 minutes. Has anyone else had a basic thing that just clicked way later than it should have? How long did it take you to fix it?
