Just realized my neighbor was right about password managers after that scare at the library

I always thought password managers were just another thing to hack, so I used the same three passwords for everything. Then last month at the public library in Dayton, I left my laptop open for two minutes while I grabbed a coffee. Someone must have peeked at my screen because they tried logging into my email later that day. That neighbor, Mike, kept telling me to use a manager, and I finally caved after that. I set up Bitwarden in about 10 minutes, and honestly, I feel kinda dumb for waiting so long. Has anyone else had a close call that finally pushed them to change their habits?

Ngl, you're just trading one risk for another. Now all your passwords are in one place, and if Bitwarden gets breached, you're totally screwed instead of just having to change three passwords.

The real risk nobody talks about @jason524 is that Bitwarden goes out of business or changes their pricing model overnight. All your eggs in one basket means you're betting on a company staying alive and keeping their free tier. At least with three different passwords scattered around, no single corporate decision can lock you out of everything at once. Plus if their servers go down during a critical moment, you're stuck waiting for them to come back up before you can access any of your accounts.

Fair point, but one breach beats remembering 50 weak passwords.
