My projector died mid presentation at that networking meetup on Tuesday
I was doing a 5 minute pitch for my consulting gig at the Downtown Detroit Business Alliance meetup and the borrowed projector just went black. Everyone just stared at me for a solid 10 seconds. I laughed it off and finished my talk using just my laptop screen propped up. Has anyone else had tech fail on them at a key moment like that?

Saw a guy's clicker die mid keynote at a conference. Brutal.

Honestly I think you dodged a bullet there. That projector dying probably forced you to actually connect with the room instead of hiding behind slides. People remember a presenter who rolls with the punches way more than some slick deck. Plus everyone in that room has seen a million cookie cutter PowerPoints that put them to sleep. Your laptop screen bit probably made you look more real and human than any perfect presentation would have. Tech failing is a gift in disguise if you ask me.
