A brand new fuel pump on a 6.7 Powerstroke just gave up after maybe 500 miles
This happened Tuesday on a customer's truck that we just got running. We put in a complete aftermarket kit, not the cheapest one either. The thing was quiet for a week, then started making this awful high-pitched whine before it just stopped pulling fuel. Now we're back to square one, pulling the bed again. Has anyone else seen a pump fail this fast on a recent job? Makes me wonder about the quality control on some of these parts now.
Only 500 miles on a brand new pump? That's just crazy. I've seen some cheap parts fail early, but a complete kit that wasn't the bottom dollar option shouldn't do that. Makes you wonder what's even worth buying anymore.
