Just read a stat about DEF consumption that blew my mind

I always figured DEF use was pretty steady, but a tech at the Detroit Diesel training center last month said a 15L engine hauling 80k lbs can burn through a full 2.5 gallon tank in just 500 miles under heavy load. That's way more than I ever estimated. How do you guys plan for DEF usage on long hauls?

Seriously, it's a total game changer. I keep a full gallon in my trunk all winter. Saved me when my main one froze solid last week. It's also perfect for helping out a friend who ran theirs down. That extra jug is just cheap peace of mind.
