My neighbor showed me a 2 minute trick for fixing a sticky door lock

I was fighting with my front door lock for an hour last week, and my neighbor Mike came over with a pencil. He just rubbed the pencil lead on the key and worked it in the lock, said the graphite acts as a dry lubricant. I finally fixed it without buying anything, has anyone else tried this instead of WD-40?

Mike out here saving you a trip to the hardware store while I was about to order a whole new lock set. Pencil lead is the real MVP compared to dumping half a can of WD-40 everywhere.
