Retried my grandpa's wallpaper paste recipe, total mess but worth it
My grandpa swore by flour and water paste for wallpaper, so I tried it in our hallway last weekend. It stuck fine but took forever to mix and smelled like pancake batter for two days. Has anyone else gone back to an old family method and regretted it or found it actually worked better than the modern stuff?

Tried my grandmother's sourdough starter for bread last month, the one she kept alive since the 80s. It made the best crust I've ever gotten, way better than the store-bought yeast packets, but I nearly burned out feeding it every day. Totally worth the extra work for a special occasion, though, just not for a Tuesday loaf.
