Spent $80 on a phone screen kit and it was a total mistake
Everyone says to buy those kits with the tools and the heat gun. Did it for my Pixel 6 last month. The cheap plastic tools snapped on the first clip. The heat gun barely got warm. Ended up cracking the new screen trying to get the old one off. Had to pay a shop $150 to fix my mess. Anyone know a better way to get a phone open without wrecking it?

Is there a secret level to this game we missed? My attempt went like the_val's, but with more swearing and a cracked back panel.

Ugh, I feel this. My attempt looked like a crime scene. I used a guitar pick because the plastic pry tool snapped, which just smeared glue everywhere. Then I got impatient and tried a butter knife (bad idea). Let's just say my old screen came off in more pieces than I planned.
