I finally hit 50 workbench builds and the 50th one taught me something stupid
So I've been building workbenches for friends and neighbors for like 3 years now as a side thing. Last weekend I finished my 50th bench and I realized halfway through that I still make the same dumb mistakes from bench number 1. Like forgetting to square the legs before drilling. Or putting the shelf brackets on backwards. Has anyone else noticed you keep repeating certain errors even after doing something a ton of times?

Is it just me or does that 50th build feel like you should be some kinda expert by now? I've done like 40 planters and I still put the drainage holes on the wrong side sometimes. Gets me every time. One time I did it on three in a row before I caught it. The worst part is you don't realize until you go to fill it with dirt and water just sits there.

Dude, right? @blair626 I swear after 50 of anything you should at least get a participation trophy for not doing the dumbest mistake possible. I once built a whole bench, sanded it, stained it, set it outside, and realized I put the legs on sideways. It just sat there looking at me like a confused dog. At least with planters you can just drill new holes and hope nobody notices the old ones.
