Update: The old machine shop in Toledo had a drafting table from the 40s still in use.
The lead guy said they keep it because the flat, stable surface is perfect for checking large prints. Anyone else still use vintage gear for specific tasks?

Oh man, my buddy learned this the hard way. He was printing this big model on his kitchen table, which wobbled a little. The whole bottom layer was a mess and he couldn't figure out why. Took him three failed prints before he finally put it on the actual floor. Night and day difference, it came out perfect. He felt so stupid for not trying it sooner.
