Changed my mind about using a single pump on a long run

I had a 400 foot slurry line to move on a job near Mobile last month, and I was set on using just our big 12 inch pump. An old hand on site said to split it with a smaller 8 inch pump halfway. I thought it was extra work for no gain, but the pressure drop was so bad we were losing half the flow. We put in the second pump and cleared the line in two days instead of four. Anyone ever run into a pressure wall on a long distance like that?

Man, pressure drop is a KILLER on those long lines. We had a 300-foot run with a 10-inch pump pushing sand and water, and the flow just died after 200 feet. Stuck a 6-inch booster in the middle and it was like night and day. You just can't fight that friction.

Right? @hannah_ross8, boosters save lives on those long pulls.
