Old timer told me to run my cutter slower than I thought I needed to

Been fighting with a clogged suction line for weeks on a job near Mobile, and finally tried his advice to drop from 350 to 200 RPM. Line cleared in 10 minutes and I felt like a fool for ignoring him so long. Anybody else get stubborn on settings and waste days?

You ever notice how everything in life has that sweet spot where you're doing less and getting more? It's like when I used to crank my music too loud trying to hear every detail, but the bass would just rattle and distort. Dropped the volume back 30 percent and suddenly I could actually hear the instruments. Same thing happens with people - I've got a buddy who talks a mile a minute in meetings thinking he's being clear, but everyone zones out. When he finally slows down and takes a breath, that's when people actually listen. Your old timer was onto something that applies way beyond just running a cutter.

Yeah I was just reading something about how our brains actually process information better when there's less coming at us. Like your brain has this buffer limit and once you hit it everything just turns into noise. That music thing you mentioned hits close to home for me too.
