Tried a different ladder setup for bank work, got way more stable results than my old method

Honestly, I always used the standard 8-foot extension ladder for getting down to the waterline on bank dredge jobs. Last month on a job near the Mississippi, my buddy let me use his Little Giant setup with the leg levelers. Ngl, I figured it was just fancy nonsense, but after 3 days of muddy banks I was way more stable and didn't feel like I was going to tip every time I carried a hose clamp. Now I'm thinking about swapping my old ladder setup, has anyone else tried those leveling legs or is it just me overthinking it?

Used to be the same way honestly, I thought fancy ladder gear was just a money grab. Then I tried a set with the swivel feet on a bank job with really soft mud and it saved me from eating dirt twice. Now I don't want to go back to my old rickety setup either.

Totally feel you on that, getting stable footing changes everything on those muddy banks.
