My curb bin got a glow up after 3 months of green bin composting

I swear our garbage pickup used to look like a disaster zone every Tuesday - bags ripped, seagulls everywhere. Started doing the city green bin program and now our weekly trash is down to one small bag. Has anyone else noticed their actual garbage volume drop way more than they expected?

My neighbor's green bin somehow got stolen last week... still can't figure that one out.

Huh, really? I mean I'm glad it's working for you but I feel like it hasn't made that huge of a dent for me. I still end up with a decent sized bag of trash every week mostly from plastic packaging and cat litter. The green bin definitely cuts down on food scraps and yard waste but I'd say my garbage volume only dropped like 30-40% max. Maybe I'm just not composting aggressively enough or something. Feels like people oversell how much of their trash is actually food waste.
