I had to pick between a high-end hydrafacial machine and a basic extraction setup
My choice was the basic setup for $3,500, skipping the $15,000 machine. I focused on perfecting manual extractions and adding a good chemical peel service instead. After six months, my repeat client rate went up because they saw real skin change, not just a quick glow. Anyone else ditch a trendy tool to double down on core skills?

Kim's right, but extractions need good light.

I switched out a $12k LED light panel for a $200 magnifying lamp with a bright ring light. Manual extractions under that thing became way more precise, like I could finally see what I was doing deep in the pores. My clients started booking return visits because their skin actually cleared up instead of just looking temporarily plumped. That lamp plus a solid enzyme peel routine did more for my retention than the fancy light ever did.
