I figured out a better way to keep my hoof stand from sliding on wet concrete.

After a rainy morning in the barn, my stand kept slipping while I was working on a big draft horse. I grabbed a piece of that rubbery shelf liner from my truck and put it under the legs. It held solid for the whole job. What do you guys use when the floor gets slick?

That shelf liner trick is a good one... I had the same problem last week. Ended up using an old rubber feed mat cut into squares, just stuck one under each foot. It grips like crazy on the damp floor.

That shelf liner idea is smart, and @rosel50's feed mat squares sound even better for a permanent fix. Makes me wonder about other barn hacks for wet weather. Like, does anyone put a bit of coarse sand in a shallow tub for their stand feet to sit in, or is that just asking for a mess? I've seen guys use those interlocking stable mats cut into small pads too.

Sand in a tub sounds like a mud magnet honestly.
