Remember when everyone was sewing those big patch pockets onto everything?
I mean, I tried putting giant canvas ones on a wool coat last fall, thinking it would look cool and useful. The whole thing just hung weird, like the front was weighed down. My friend took one look and said it looked like I was carrying bricks. I guess I learned that a pocket's size has to match the fabric's weight, not just the trend. Has anyone else had a pocket idea go totally wrong?

Totally feel this. Saw those cute tiny pockets on heavy denim jackets last year and had to try it. Put these little leather ones near the shoulder, like a weird patch. It looked so off, like the jacket was confused about what it was supposed to be. The thick fabric just swallowed them whole. Sometimes the vision in your head just does NOT translate to real life.

But it's just a jacket, right? A weird patch can be a fun story.

Yeah, that "vision in your head" thing gets me every time, @wright.luna. It's like the materials have their own stubborn plan.
