Hit 150 gallons of sauerkraut this month and my back is killing me

I didn't even realize I was cranking out that much until I added up the jars. My kitchen smells like a deli and I've got carpal tunnel from shredding cabbage on my mandoline. Anyone else lose track of their batch counts and get surprised?

Wait, you racked up 150 gallons without even noticing? That's like, a whole bathtub full of kraut. My back hurts just thinking about moving that much cabbage around the kitchen. Did you at least invest in a proper cutting board setup or were you hunched over a counter like a gremlin the whole time?

Get a food processor attachment, shredding that much cabbage by hand is brutal on the wrists.

Man, you're totally right about the wrist thing. But honestly @spencer_chen6, I tried a food processor once and the cabbage came out way too watery for my kimchi. It ended up mushy after a few days. I switched back to hand shredding but I use a mandoline with a cut glove. Takes way less time than a knife and my wrists don't hurt as bad. Just my two cents though.
