Noticing how extra measuring time reduces leftover flooring

I see that spending a few more minutes on measuring really helps. Last month, I put down laminate in a kitchen with uneven walls. I checked each board's fit before making any cuts. This way, I ended up with only a small pile of scraps. The homeowner liked the tight seams and no wasted material. My supply order was right on point, which kept costs low. Taking that extra care makes the job better for everyone.

My buddy just tiled a bathroom and his careful cuts left almost nothing to throw out.

While you say extra measuring cuts waste, I find it often costs more in time than it saves. Labor hours add up quickly, and clients notice when a job takes too long. In real world jobs, uneven walls make perfect measurements impossible anyway. Keeping a few spare pieces is better for quick fixes later. So, a bit of leftover material isn't always a bad thing.
