A comment on a rerun forum made me rethink a show from my childhood

I was reading about an old show called 'The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers' on a rerun forum, and someone wrote 'it was just a toy ad'. That stuck with me because I loved it as a kid. I went back and watched an episode, and I saw what they meant, but I also saw the cool animation and the weird stories. Has anyone else had a show they loved get a new light from a simple comment?

That show was actually a syndicated cartoon, not a toy commercial. The toys came out a couple years later.

Totally get what you're saying, @jason524, memory can be a tricky thing. I used to swear those toys came first, but reading the_jordan's point really made me rethink everything. It's funny how we just assume certain shows were made to sell stuff, especially with all the 80s and 90s cartoons that were exactly that. But you're right, this one was actually a proper syndicated cartoon from the start. I honestly had to look it up after seeing this, and yeah, the toys did follow later. Always good to have someone set the record straight, even if it makes my brain feel a little silly.
