The trick to finding those old one-season shows from the 80s
I kept trying to search for a show called "The Highwayman" from 1987 and getting nothing but modern results. Then I realized if you put the year in quotes after the title like "The Highwayman" 1987 it filters out all the noise. I tested it on three other forgotten shows from the 70s and it worked every time. Anyone else have a better way to dig up these buried series?

You ever try watching a show with no year and just hope for the best? My buddy spent three hours looking for "Voyagers!" before he remembered to slap a 1982 on it.

Oh man, that's a good trick with the quotes and year, I never thought of that. But here's the thing nobody's talking about - a lot of these old shows had different titles in different countries or got renamed for syndication. So you could be searching for "The Highwayman" but in some places it was called "The Road Warrior" or something random like that. I found this out the hard way looking for a show called "Riptide" from the 80s and kept getting results for a 2000s show with the same name. You gotta search by the main actors' names too, like if you know the lead actor just search their name plus TV show and it usually pulls up their whole filmography. Also some of these shows only get listed on sites like TV.com or old fan forums that still exist from the dial-up days, not Wikipedia or IMDB. My method is to check the Wikipedia list of "television series by year" for whatever year I'm thinking of, then scroll through the entire list because those rarely get scrubbed or updated with modern stuff.
