Hot take: A potential client in Denver told me my project estimate was 'unrealistic' because it was too low.

He said a quote that cheap meant I didn't value my own work, and honestly, it made me bump my rates up 30% across the board. Anyone else had a client talk them *into* charging more?

It's wild how often the people buying a service have a better sense of its real value than the person selling it.

Used to argue the opposite until I got my own business.

Yeah it's basically the same thing as when you say you're fine with a cheap burger and your friend is like "no you deserve a better one" and suddenly you're eating a $20 meal. People just have a way of reflecting your own worth back at you sometimes, even when you don't see it yourself. Kinda makes you wonder how many other things we're underselling without even realizing it.
