Watching a video review of the new Galaxy phone, I realized how many times they said 'ecosystem'
It was a 15 minute review from a big tech channel last week. The person said 'ecosystem' at least eight times when talking about why you should pick this phone over another. It made me think, are we just reviewing single gadgets anymore or pushing people into a brand's whole set of stuff? I used to look for how long the battery lasts or how good the camera is in low light. Now it feels like half the review is about how it works with their tablets and earbuds. Has anyone else noticed this shift in what reviews focus on?

You're right about it being a one-way street. I've seen friends get stuck with a drawer full of pricey accessories that are useless after they switch brands. Reviews should be honest about that lock-in, not just sell the dream.

Exactly, my old smartwatch charger is now a very expensive paperweight (a lesson learned the hard way).

That word gets thrown around so much it's starting to lose its meaning. What's funny is they never talk about the bad parts of being locked in. Like what if you want to switch brands later? All your accessories and apps might not work the same, and you've spent so much money. It's a one-way street they're selling, but reviews act like it's only a good thing. They should at least mention the cost of leaving, not just the perks of staying.
