A client asked for a full bleach and tone in one sitting after a box dye job

I was at my station in the salon when she told me she'd used a dark brown box color just three days before. I had to explain that doing it all at once would risk serious breakage, so we booked a color correction over two appointments. Has anyone else had to talk a client down from a major color service like that?

Saw a video from a stylist who called box dye over bleach the "hair napalm" combo, which really stuck with me. You did the absolute right thing by spacing it out, no question. That dark dye just locks itself onto the hair and trying to blast it all out in one go is a recipe for mush. It's frustrating when clients don't get the chemistry, but saving their hair is the job, even if it means a tough talk.
