A client asked for a full bleach and tone in one sitting after a box dye job

Saw a video from a stylist who called box dye over bleach the "hair napalm" combo, which really stuck with me. You did the absolute right thing by spacing it out, no question. That dark dye just locks itself onto the hair and trying to blast it all out in one go is a recipe for mush. It's frustrating when clients don't get the chemistry, but saving their hair is the job, even if it means a tough talk.

Warning: My quick wipe-down habit led to adhesion problems.

Started with those blue shop towels and a spritz of isopropyl alcohol, thought it was enough. The project that failed was a set of kitchen cabinets, the paint just never properly stuck and peeled near the handles within a month. Learned that alcohol just moves grease around, it doesn't actually lift it off the surface. Now I use a proper degreaser and lots of clean rags, no shortcuts.

Can we talk about how we used to handle the suction line on a 12-inch cutterhead?

That Mobile trick sounds good, but honestly, how much time are we really saving? I mean, you still gotta bolt the flanges and check the gasket. On my last job, the boss bought these fancy clamps that were supposed to be faster. We spent more time looking for the special wrench than we ever saved. Sometimes the old way is just fine.

My client book hit 200 people and it's making me think about my whole business model

Hitting that wall around 200 clients is a real feeling, isn't it?

Pro tip: I put my grinder in the freezer for 10 minutes before grinding light roast

That's just how people optimize everything now.
