Vent: I was sure the 'envelope system' was just a dumb trend for people who can't use a debit card.

After my checking account got hit with three overdraft fees in March, I gave it a shot with $400 cash for groceries and gas, and it actually stopped me from overspending at the store.

I shaped a hoof with a dull rasp for a whole week before I noticed

My main rasp got left at a barn in Salem and I just kept using my old backup without thinking. After seven days of feeling like I was fighting the hoof, my buddy asked to borrow it and said 'Grant, this thing is smoother than a river rock'. I learned that a tool can feel normal to you even when it's totally shot. How often do you guys check your rasps for sharpness?

Update: I tried the vinegar trick for a clogged shower drain and it actually worked

My shower was draining slow for about a week. I saw a tip online to pour a cup of baking soda down, then a cup of vinegar, wait 15 minutes, and flush with hot water. I thought it was just a dumb kitchen science project. Did it yesterday afternoon. Heard it fizzing like crazy. After the hot water, it drained perfectly. Anyone got other cheap fixes for bathroom stuff?

Bought a monthly bus pass but my route got cut after two weeks

I paid $75 for a city bus pass at the start of March. Yesterday, they posted a notice saying my main route is being discontinued on the 15th. So I basically paid for a full month but can only use it for half. Some people say the transit company should offer partial refunds for changed service. Others say you accept the risk when you buy the pass. What's the fair thing to do here?
