Vent: That moment I realized anime discussion threads are just echo chambers for the same three opinions
Last Tuesday, I spent 30 minutes scrolling through a thread about whether the new season of that show is good. Every single comment was saying the same thing about the pacing, no one even brought up the animation change. Has anyone else noticed how these discussions just recycle the same talking points from three years ago?

nobody ever changes the recipe" is a perfect way to put it. So what's your take on why that happens, do you think people are just afraid to get dogpiled if they step out of line? I've been in threads where someone points out a valid animation inconsistency and gets roasted for hours, feels like the whole system punishes actual discussion.

blairj55 nailed it but the real problem is most people just want confirmation not a new take.

and the funny thing is you can almost set your watch to it. somebody will pop in, say "the pacing is too slow" like they're the first person to ever notice that in the history of anime. then three replies later someone else says "nah the pacing is fine because the manga did it worse" and everyone pats each other on the back. if you dare mention the animation shift you get downvoted into the shadow realm and told you're just mad your favorite character got a slightly thinner nose. honestly it's like watching the same rerun of a cooking show but nobody ever changes the recipe.
