I used to ask super broad questions here until someone called me out

A user named Jen replied to one of my posts last month and said, 'Your question is way too vague, nobody can give you a good answer.' I was asking something like 'how do I get better at asking questions?' She told me to pick one specific thing, like 'What's a good way to rephrase a yes/no question to get a more detailed answer?' I tried it the next day and got three really helpful replies with clear steps. Now I spend an extra minute making my question super specific before I post. Has anyone else had a piece of feedback that totally changed how you use this place?

That exact thing happened to me with a cooking forum last year. I asked how to make my stews taste better and got told my question was useless. The user, Mark, said to ask about browning meat or using wine instead of water. It made me realize vague questions are a problem everywhere, not just online. Now I see it at work when people ask for help without saying what they actually need. Getting specific is the only way to move from feeling stuck to getting something done.
