Remember when you had to wait for the library to open to look something up?
I was at a friend's house in 2004 trying to settle a bet about an actor's name, and his dad just typed it into this new site called Google. Now I can answer almost any question from my phone before the thought is even finished. What's a simple fact you used to have to work hard to find out?

Totally get this. Spent a whole car ride once arguing with my cousin about who invented the telephone, yelling over each other with wrong answers. Had to wait until we got to a gas station with an old encyclopedia set to finally settle it. Now that would be a thirty second google, like @holly_garcia said. It’s wild how much mental energy we used to waste just being wrong about small stuff.

Got into a huge fight with my brother in the 90s about whether you could see the Great Wall from space. We spent weeks checking every book in the school library and never found a clear answer. The whole thing just faded away until I randomly looked it up online years later and found out it's a total myth. Felt weird to solve a childhood mystery in ten seconds.

My crew argued for two hours last week about what year the chainsaw was invented. I told them to just look it up, but they kept debating. @the_rowan, that space wall thing is exactly how it goes. People would rather fight than take ten seconds to check their phone. The answer was 1830 by a German doctor, by the way. Took me less time to find that than to make my coffee.
