My mobile deposit failed at 2am in a Denver laundromat

I was sitting in a 24-hour laundromat at 2am last Thursday trying to deposit a $400 check from a client through my bank's app... it failed three times with no error code. Turns out the app needed a software update I’d ignored for months, and the low light from the fluorescent bulbs kept throwing off the image capture. How do you handle deposits when technology or environment just won't cooperate?

Ugh, that sounds like such a frustrating night, I've been there with app updates ruining everything at the worst time. Do you have a backup plan for late night deposits now?

@piperr58 oh man, you get it. I had almost the exact same thing happen but with a check from my side gig a few months back. It was like 1am and I was trying to deposit it in a parking lot with terrible street lighting. App kept saying "image too blurry" over and over. I ended up driving to a friend's house just to borrow their phone because mine was dead. Now I always make sure to update my banking app right away and I keep a physical deposit slip in my glove box for emergencies. There's something about late night banking that just amplifies every little problem. I swear those app updates always show up at the worst possible time.
