Switched to mobile deposit for rent checks and got a surprise faster

I always drove to the bank (like 20 minutes each way) to deposit my tenant's rent check because I figured it would clear faster. Last month I was sick and just used my bank's app to snap a photo of the check from my couch. Turns out the funds were available by the next morning, same as when I went in person. Has anyone else noticed mobile deposits hitting your account just as quick as branch ones?

Is it really that serious though? One time my app glitched out and said the check was deposited but it took like three extra days to actually show up in my account. I'll keep driving to the bank, 20 minutes is nothing compared to dealing with a support line and wondering if your rent money actually went through.

Wait, THREE extra days? I would lose my mind (literally lose it) if my rent money was just floating out there in app glitch limbo for that long. My bank once "deposited" a check and it took two days to clear, and I was already sweating bullets. You must have the patience of a saint, or maybe just a better emergency fund than me.
