Overheard a couple arguing about 'The Road' at the library coffee shop yesterday
One said the ending was hopeful, the other called it bleak and pointless. Has anyone else's club had a fight over what counts as a 'happy' ending?

That "hopeful vs bleak" fight is basically my book club's brand at this point (we're a mess).

Oh the "hopeful vs bleak" brand is a mood. My group's rule is you gotta bring a snack that matches the book's vibe, it helps soften the blow of the really dark ones.
