Switched to audiobooks for book club reads after a commute disaster

Used to always read physical copies, but after driving 45 minutes each way to work in Orlando last year, I started listening to audiobooks during the drive. Now I finish a book every two weeks instead of struggling to get through one a month. Has anyone else found a format switch that saved your book club participation?

Oh man, I totally get this! I had a similar thing happen but with podcasts. I used to hate them, thought they were just people rambling. Then I started driving for Uber on weekends to make extra cash and needed something to keep me awake. Now I'm obsessed with true crime podcasts and can't read a physical book about it without falling asleep. Funny how your brain just rewires itself like that. I actually find myself mouthing along to the narrator now when I'm listening, which probably looks real weird at red lights. My book club thought I was cheating at first but now half of them have switched to audio too.

Mouthing along at red lights is so real though, @the_finley. I do the same thing and people definitely think I'm losing it.
