Hot take: I spent $80 on a fancy moisture meter and it was a total waste
Everyone in my local plant group swears by them, but my Dr. Meter brand one gave me wild readings that made me overwater my fiddle leaf fig. I ended up just going back to the old finger test and it's been way healthier for months now. Has anyone else had a tool that just made things worse?
Feel like people get way too deep into the gear sometimes. It's a plant, not a rocket ship. If your finger works and the plant is happy, why complicate it with a gadget that might be wrong?
Wait, you're telling me people actually buy those meters for small pots? @noah880 I've killed two of those things just dropping them on the floor, they seem way more trouble than they're worth for normal houseplants.
