Can we talk about how grocery store produce sections keep shrinking?
I remember when our local Piggly Wiggly had a whole row of loose carrots and potatoes you could pick through. Now it's all pre-bagged and marked up $2 more for the same weight. Is anyone else seeing their stores do this or just mine?

Pre-bagged stuff is just lazy shopping, I don't see why it matters so much.

Three years ago I switched to buying my onions in bulk from the local farmers market and it saves me almost five dollars a week compared to the pre-bagged ones at the grocery store. Plus those mesh bags always let the onions rot faster because they trap moisture against the skin. I started doing the same with potatoes and carrots and the difference is night and day. The loose stuff stays fresh in my pantry for weeks longer than the bagged produce ever did. It takes me an extra five minutes to pick out what I need but that small effort really pays off.
