Honestly thought a $2 bag of lentils was gonna be the most boring dinner ever until my buddy showed me his 'lazy chili' recipe that convinced me with a single can of tomatoes and a spoonful of chili powder.
Ngl, I was fully prepared for a bland mush, but after simmering for 45 minutes with those two cheap extras, it turned into a legit meal that fed me for three days straight, so what other 'sad bag' ingredients have you guys totally transformed?

Honestly, a spoonful can be plenty if it's a good, fresh chili powder and you let it simmer. The flavor really builds over that cooking time. Starting light is smart because you can always add more heat later. What brand of chili powder do you usually use?

Wait, you only used a spoonful of chili powder? That seems way too low for a whole pot.

Yeah, my chili is famously weak, my friends call it bean soup with commitment issues.
