Unpopular opinion: People are sleeping on overnight buses for saving a full day's lodging cost
I saved $90 on a hotel in Denver last month by taking a 10 hour Greyhound that arrived at 6am, letting me explore right away and crash for free in a hostel common area until check-in.

Did this in Chicago, slept on the bus then napped at the library.

That sounds rough, honestly. The 151 bus route is so loud and crowded, I can't imagine getting real rest on it. Public naps always leave me feeling worse than before, kind of groggy and out of it. For me, it's better to just power through with some bad coffee than try to sleep in those spots.
